What is KMS Server and how to use it ?
A Key Management Service (KMS) server is a centralized server that enables organizations to activate software products, such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, within their network. It is primarily used for volume activation, allowing multiple computers or devices to be activated using a single key instead of individual product keys.
When a computer running a Windows operating system connects to a KMS server, it requests activation and receives a license key from the server. This key is then used to activate the software on the client computer. The KMS server keeps track of the number of activations and automatically renews them periodically, typically every 180 days.
KMS activation is commonly used by organizations with a large number of computers to simplify the activation process and ensure compliance with licensing agreements. It requires a minimum number of computers (usually 25 or more) to activate a KMS host server, and client computers must connect to the KMS server periodically to maintain their activation status.
